-Recipe as shown uses
creamy brown rice farina from Bob's Red Mill. I've also used oatmeal, corn grits,
buckwheat hot cereal, and
quinoa flakes, all of which are delicious.
-I know that protein powder isn't ideal, but I really love the flavor and texture that
Vega Vanilla Protein & Greens adds to this hot cereal. If you omit it, you may want to add a little extra sweetener.
-Try your frozen blueberries before making this to ensure they're sweet! If not, thaw your berries and sweeten them before adding as a topping. I recommend Whole Foods brand organic frozen blueberries if you can get them; they're reliably delicious.
